Super Seth wins Caulfield Guineas for villagebet free racing tips
Super Seth claims victory in the G1 Caulfield Guineas with a stunning, barnstorming finish.

A barnstorming finish by Super Seth in the Caulfield Guineas capped off a red-letter day for villagebet’s free racing tips.

Super Seth was the “Weekend Special” on Villagebet’s Racing Tips and Best Bets page on the Saturday morning.

Super Seth was also top selection for the Guineas in our historical form analysis feature, published every weekend.

The Dundeel colt started at the nice odds of $7.80 and managed to catch Alligator Blood in the last stride to score an amazing victory.

Trainer Anthony Freedman was ecstatic with the win. “I wasn’t always convinced he’d run a mile to be honest and being a colt, the goal was to always win one of these (stallion-making races) with him so I thought the Coolmore might be the aim,’’ Freedman said. “But he showed us enough to go in this direction and he’s proven himself today.’’

The star 3YO middle-distance galloper was in an impossible position but stormed home to win the G1 Caulfield Guineas in the final stride.

By winning the Caulfield Guineas, Australia’ premier 3YO mile race for colts, Super Seth announced himself as a valuable stallion-in-waiting.

Arrowfield’s Jon Freyer was equally as effusive, “Super Seth, we just loved him. He’s a serious horse. He’s threatened to do that a couple of times in other races but just didn’t get the luck. But he showed today what he can do when things go his way. Wow, what a win.’’

Super Seth, bred by Arrowfield Pastoral and Planette Thoroughbreds, has won four of his seven starts for $1.4M prizemoney. Prominent bloodstock agent, Dean Hawthorne, purchased the Dundeel colt for $280,000.

Western Bulldogs fans cash in

The syndicate of owners include no less than five past and present Western Bulldogs players, including Tory Dickson who also part-owned the G1-winning Coolmore stallion, Merchant Navy.

Word around the Bulldogs locker room is that Tory Dickson is the true stallion-maker!

In fact, three of the owners; Lachie Hunter, Luke Dahlhaus and Tory Dickson, were members of the team that famously won the 2016 AFL premiership. Lin Jong and former player Mark Hunter are also in the ownership syndicate.

Devoted fans of the popular AFL team, who were privy to the team’s strong ownership link to Super Seth, cashed in on the win.

Trifecta bonanza

Earlier in the day, Villagebet’s Trifecta play was successful in spectacular fashion. For a $12 outlay, the winning trifecta paid $307.60. Members of BetEasy were rewarded with a payout figure of $326.06 because they were able to apply an exclusive Bet Boost feature.

Trifecta selections, published on the Racing Tips and Best Bets page, are based on proven trifecta betting strategies, and have an outstanding winning strike rate.
